A Night On Broadway

Out Loud's debut concert

Dr. Timothy Seelig has been at the helm of the Turtle Creek Chorale since 1987. He holds both the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of North Texas, as well as the Diploma in Lieder and Oratorio from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. In addition to the Turtle Creek Chorale, he is the Artistic Director of the Women's Chorus of Dallas. Dr. Seelig maintains an active singing career, having made his European operatic debut with the Stadttheater in St. Gallen, Switzerland as well as his Carnegie Hall debut in 1989. This year, he released a solo CD entitled EVERYTHING'S POSSIBLE benefiting 3 Dallas AIDS organizations.

Sara Seglem, soprano, has performed the role of Rosina in Rossini's IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Pamina in THE MAGIC FLUTE, Gretel in HANSEL AND GRETEL, and Mimi in LA BOHEME at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. She made her professional operatic debut with the Palm Beach Opera singing Zerlina opposite Metropolitan Opera baritone Sherrill Milnes in Mozart's DON GIOVANNI. Ms. Seglem has completed her coursework towards a Master of Music Degree in Opera Performance at Oklahoma City University.

Forward to Recording

This recording features music from the Turtle Creek Chorale's 1993 holiday concert entitled "A Roamin' Holiday". The entire 14th season was one of musical travel. Audience response to the concert propelled the production of a live CD. The various pieces brought together both much-loved familar songs from other countries as well as new pieces in celebration of the holidays. The recording took place in Dallas' Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and features the Herman W. And Amelia H. Lay Family Organ. We hope the variety of music, languages and instrumentation will delight you and bring a festive spirit every time it is played.

Turtle Creek Chorale

1994 - 1995 marks the 15th anniversary season for the Turtle Creek Chorale. The chorus, made up of volunteers, numbers 225 strong singing members. In addition to a four concert subscription series, the chorus, along with its sub-groups performs approximately 50 concerts and benefits annually. In 1993, the Chorale made its Carnegie Hall debut in addition to performing by invitation at the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association. 1994 brought the national airing of AFTER GOODBYE: An AIDS story on PBS. This one-hour documentary chronicles the stages of grief as seen through the eyes of Chorale members and their families and as sung in WHEN WE NO LONGER TOUCH: A Cycle of Songs for Survival. The proceeds from this CD recording benefit AMFAR, the American Foundation for AIDS Research with over $50,000 to date. They have sung in a command performance fo the Queen of England, as well as for the President of the United States and the Inauguration of Texas Governor, Ann Richards. Its first release on Reference recordings label, TESTAMENT, garnered rave reviews in every major trade publication both in the U.S. and abroad. The culmination of the 15th anniversary season will be an all-German recording with the Fort Worth Chamber Orchestra, John Giordana Music Director and a concert tour of Europe.
